How do I get the youtube tcl script working?

Recommended Posts

Hello there, I am new to the world of tcl scripts & eggdrop. I have downloaded the latest version of youtubetitle.tcl and http.tcl and after disconnecting the bot added them to my eggdrop.conf, pasted both tcl files in /scripts. Yet whenever I try to start the bot I get the following error:

"" Tcl error in file 'eggdrop.conf':

wrong # args: should be "bind type flags cmd/mask ?procname?"

while executing

"bind pubm - * check:youtube bind ctcp - ACTION check:youtube:me bind pub $ytitle(youtube_search_flags) $ytitle(youtube_search_cmd) search:youtube setu..."

 (file "scripts/youtubetitle.tcl" line 63)

invoked from within

"source scripts/youtubetitle.tcl"

(file "eggdrop.conf" line 1547)

Also, where am I supposed to write .chanset #channel etc?

What am I doing wrong? I am using eggdrop 1.8.4.

Many thanks!

Hello, first of all, your dowloaded script has formating issues

"bind pubm - * check:youtube

bind ctcp - ACTION check:youtube:me bind pub

Thats the way the lines must be.

Download the 1.9 version again.

The command should be executed in DCC, you can enter with /ctcp <botnick> chat

Thank you BlackShadow, it really helped. There were too many errors in my youtube.tcl - perhaps formatting issues when copy pasting from windows pc to my server hosting eggdrop. Is there a way to download the file directly onto the server? I tried wget but it just downloads index.html

I manually edited the tcl file while looking at the txt file downloaded from here - it was tedious. But no more errors n bot is running but youtube links are still not being deciphered by bot, despite the /dcc thing with bot (for which many thanks, i didn't know about that) - i think a fresh download of youtubetitle.tcl will solve it hopefully, but how do i download it directly onto bot server when i ssh into it? with wget i am not getting the text file like i should.

Many many thanks! :)
